Easties, especially the Bedok North Residents who usually eat out and are stuck in a “What to eat ah?” rut — your salvation has arrived. BK Eating House at 123 Bedok North Street 2 has recently taken over Jin Biao Coffeeshop after a 3-week glow-up, and 6 out of its 9 stalls are fresh new additions. That means for 6 days in a row, you can savour something different for lunch — woohoo!

Fans of bak chor mee will probably be familiar with the various Jalan Tua Kong brandings of mee pok stalls around Singapore. They can be traced back to the legacy of Mr Chan Sek Inn, who opened 132 Mee Poh Kueh Teow Mee at the old Siglap Market in the 1970s.

The 2nd-gen owner who opened Jalan Tua Kong Ah Lim Mee Pok in Simpang Bedok back in 2005 has opened an outlet here. Noodles fans can go for the Ah Lim Minced Pork Noodle (S$5/S$6), available in both dry and soup options.
The menu also features other tantalising choices like Pork Rib Noodles (S$6/S$8), Fishball Noodles (S$5/S$6), and Prawn Noodles (S$5.50/S$7.50).

Curry lovers should swing by 豪香味 (Hao Xiang Wei), which sells various renditions of curry noodles — 6, to be exact. For the ultimate dish that throws in a bit of everything, indulge in the King Curry Bee Hoon (S$9.80). The bowl of noodles is lavishly crowned with prawns, fried fish, smoked duck, blood clams, and chicken chop.
If you have a smaller appetite, you can opt for simpler choices such as the Smoked Duck Curry Bee Hoon (S$5.80) and Fried Fish Curry Bee Hoon (S$6.80).
Seeking lighter options for lunch? Head to 阿芳(Ah Fang) Fish Soup • Ban Mian •Porridge for piping-hot, comforting bowls of Fried Fish Soup (S$6) and Fish Head Bee Hoon (S$5.50). In case you’re in the mood for a snack, you can also share a plate of Steamed Dumplings (S$5.50 for 8, S$6.50 for 10) and Fried Dumplings (S$5.50 for 8, S$6.50 for 10). Psst, don’t forget to dip them in vinegar and shredded ginger (you’re very welcome!).

This coffeeshop has three 24-hour stalls — NKS Indian Muslim Food, Eat Bar, and Hua Dee Hong Kong Style Roasted Delight. Hua Dee offers an array of mouth-watering roasted meat specialities such as Soya Sauce Chicken Noodles (S$4.50), Duck Drumstick Noodle (S$7.50), Roasted Pork Char Siew Noodle (S$6), and Three Roasted Combo Rice (S$7.50).
Eat Bar features various hawker crowd favourites such as Black Carrot Cake (S$3.90), Fried Char Kway Teow (S$5.50/S$7.50), and Signature Fried Hokkien Mee (S$5.50/S$7.50). If you’re having a cold, there’s even Sliced Fish & Lala Pao Fan (S$6.90) to warm you up like a snuggly blanket.
