Singaporeans find pastries irresistible and our rapidly-growing pastry scene is testament to that fact. From affordable treats like the ones at Cat In The Hat to the creative ones from Madu The Bakery, there’s plenty to enjoy! So, when iconic patisserie Cedric Grolet is announced to open in Singapore as of Sep 2023, many folks are overjoyed.

Cedric Grolet is not an unknown name to many, thanks to the founder’s (who is Cedric Grolet, in case you couldn’t tell) overwhelming social media presence. From his amazing videos, even the pastry-inexperienced ones among us can tell that he can certainly walk the talk.

Having been crowned Best Pastry Chef numerous times, Cedric Grolet has built a prestigious reputation in the pastry world. He is particularly well-known for his cakes which are shaped after various fruit. Like, is this actually a pomegranate?

So, it is completely understandable that everyone is so excited for this new patisserie to come to our sunny island. According to Eatbook, Cedric Grolet Singapore will be opening in the upcoming “lifestyle destination” Como Orchard that will also house the Como Metropolitan Singapore hotel. This makes Cedric Grolet’s fourth outlet and the brand’s first venture into Asia.

Be sure to expect their classics — pastries, cakes and sandwiches. Of course, their famous croissants and pain au chocolat are to be included in Singapore’s menu. There will be queues for them, so be prepared! From conversion using their European prices, prices are expected to be S$10.37 for plain croissants and S$12.10 for the chocolate variety.

As per the patisserie’s speciality, the menu will include fruit- and flower-inspired treats. Personally, I hope that the Raspberry Pistachio Flower (S$25.23) will be here since I am a true pistachio fanatic.

Rumour has it that Cedric Grolet Singapore will have a country-exclusive tea menu, so stay tuned for more information! In the meantime, it would be best to mentally prepare yourself for the queue to come.
