Image of cheesecakes and deep-fried lychee ballsYou may be wondering what’s special about yet another quaint space dabbling in the same things. What if I told you Chezcake Bistro has over 100 different cheesecake flavours on their menu?! However, their creamy homemade cheesecake flavours are usually out on a rotational basis.

I managed to try four out of their 100 flavours. Established in 2003, Chezcake Bistro has also raked up a range of signature and best-selling flavours like the Lychee Martini (S$8)Apple Crumble (S$8)Red Velvet (S$7.50), and Osmanthus with Wolfberries (S$8).

The Lychee Martini tastes as it sounds, light and sweet with a slightly tart finish, except in the form of a creamy cheesecake. Personally, it wasn’t for me (just because I’m not a fan of martini). But I can see why it’s a best seller.

The marriage of vanilla and cinnamon flavours in this cheesecake pairs beautifully with the fresh apple bits. It’s well-balanced and perfectly cooked with a crunchy top and creamy filling. This is one for the apple crumble lovers out there.

Their Red Velvet is unlike any I’ve ever tasted. I was expecting the usual blend of mild cocoa with cream cheese but when I popped a spoonful in my mouth, I was greeted with an explosive taste of coffee instead! Which was definitely an unexpected twist. The addition of coffee truly elevated this flavour and gave it a bit of edge.

Image of a slice of osmanthus with wolfberries' cheesecakeThe Osmanthus with Wolfberries is another flavour that took me by surprise. Although I couldn’t taste much of the osmanthus, it had a lovely jelly-like and creamy texture coupled with the right amount of sweetness.

For drinks, I had the Strawberry MilkshakeOreo Float (S$7), and a Pot of Night Time Tea (S$5.50). Like their cheesecake flavours, Chezcake Bistro also has an extended list of gourmet coffee and tea flavours to choose from, which is perfect for caffeine lovers. Honestly, their milkshake is something I find myself going back for.
Apart from cheesecakes, Chezcake Bistro also offers a range of mains. After all that indulgent cakes, I had to opt for something savoury and got myself the Seafood Laksa Pasta (S$18.90) and Bolognese Pasta (S$16.90). Reminiscent of a comforting home-cooked meal, both pasta dishes were al dente (just the way it’s supposed to be), tasty, and worth every dollar.
If there’s one place I can find myself making multiple visits to be it for a slice of creamy cheesecake, a pot of tea, a tall glass of milkshake or a hearty meal, it has to be Chezcake Bistro.
