Sigh… we have yet another hawker stall closing its shutters permanently. Feng Shan Desserts, which has been operating in Bedok North for close to 30 years, will cease operations on 3 May.

The stall is located on Level 1 of Bedok 85 Market, and is known for their wallet-friendly, refreshing desserts! For instance, ice kachang is typically priced between S$2 and S$4 and their Ice Kachang (S$2.30) falls at the more affordable end.

In Google reviews and Facebook, the stall has received many positive ratings, with customers commenting about its value for money, wide variety of offerings and perfect sweetness level.

A netizen who tried their ice kachang and said in a Google review, “Portions are large and the dessert was generously topped with syrup and ingredients…Since ice kachang in essence is shaved ice with sweets, the more ingredients in the bowl, the better tasting your dessert …. I find it hard not to recommend this stall.”

A notice was placed in front of the stall to inform customers of its upcoming closure and thank them for their support over the years. While the stall’s notice did not specify the reason for its closure, netizens suggested it’s likely that the retiring stallholders may have no successor to take over their business.

Before you mourn over the loss of this dessert stall and its budget-friendly offerings, you should hurry down to their stall for a final visit! If you have yet to taste their desserts, it would also be good to try them out before they close for good! After that, you’ll have to find another dessert stall to cool down in the hot Singapore weather!

I can't cook, but I can eat and tell you if the food is good. I love almost everything that goes with coriander, spring onions or vinegar, but absolutely hate ginger and garlic.
