Scandinavian design is known for its simple functionality and, generally, muted colours. IKEA retains the former but does away with the latter with the IKEA PS 2026 Collection. It will be available at the Alexandra and Tampines outlets from 27 May 2026, and online starting 2 Jun 2026.
We got a hands-on preview of the IKEA PS 2026 Collection today and, as I write this, I keep returning to the word ‘pop’.

It’s because the collection reminds me of Pop art pieces and because so many of the pieces just, well, pop. It is the most playful, artistic and interesting range that I have come across from the Swedish furnishings specialists.
Here are our favourites.
Multi-directional floor uplighter

Designed to bend at 45-degree angles at three separate points, the IKEA PS 2026 Floor Uplighter (S$69.90) is interchangeably an uplighter, a floor lamp or a spotlight.
We love it for eschewing traditional hinges for this clean ‘interlocking cylinders’ approach. It’s available in deep burgundy, cobalt blue and bright yellow.
Periscope table clock

I simply love the IKEA PS 2026 Table Clock (S$49.90) for its mischievousness. If the fire engine red and Mario-esque periscope shape weren’t enough, the clock dial screws off (above, right) to reveal a hidden compartment!
Place 2 facing each other (above, left) and it looks like a water pipe. Bold design for energetic vibes.
Rocking bench

I’ve always loved rocking chairs but never before had I seen a rocking bench. But here it is, the IKEA PS 2026 Bench (S$225) in all its glory, meant to be ridden solo or with a partner.
Plus, it keeps the core engaged so you can consider it a discounted gym membership.
Gear-toothed stool/table

Isn’t that leg marvellous ingenuity? IKEA reimagines height adjustment with the IKEA PS 2026 stool (S$95) that can seamlessly transition to a side table, too. I also love how a very simple stool is transformed with a spot of colour.
Super-light easy chair

How heavy do you reckon this easy chair is? Turns out, the IKEA PS 2026 Easy Chair (S$199) is actually light enough to lift over your head because it has inflatable cushions. Not that you would be able to tell when you sat on it — it was one of the most comfortable pieces we tried.
If you want an easy chair that you can move easily between different rooms, this is it.
Reversible chair

It may be composed of simple shapes but the IKEA PS 2026 chair (S$95) is a very versatile addition to the home, and perhaps even the casual office. If you are the fidgety type, this cleverly designed little seater will give your limbs support in myriad different ways.
Homeware & accessories

The IKEA PS 2026 Collection also features a host of furnishings for pepping up your home. The Maria Vinka Hand-Blown Vases (from S$39.90) with their distinct, hand-sculpted ‘ears’ are as much triggers of conversations as they are repositories of flowers.
IKEA has also released printed fabric, each length dyed independently so no 2 pieces you get will be alike. The light watercolour-ish motifs bring gentleness and calm to spaces.
