If you love wonton mee, you’ll certainly have heard of Kok Kee Wonton Mee, the legendary wonton mee stall that first started out at now-defunct Lavender Food Square in 1985.

Its newest outlet is located at a kopitiam along Bedok North Avenue 3, a short 10-minute walk from Bedok MRT. For those familiar with the Bedok estate, this kopitiam is located right next to Nakhon Kitchen and Percolate Coffee. While this is its seventh outlet, this will be the first one in the East. Hooray for East-siders!

Best known for its springy noodles and lard-based chilli sauce, Kok Kee Wonton Mee has been touted as the “Best Wanton Mee in Singapore”, so much so that someone actually wanted to buy its secret recipe for S$2 million in 2019.

While the owners rejected the first offer, Jumbo Group eventually went on to acquire the brand in November 2020 for a whopping S$2.1 million.

The menu at Bedok North is a little different from the OG menu at Foch Road. Apart from the standard Wonton Noodle (Dry) (S$5.50), the Bedok North outlet offers set menus as well.

For S$8.30, you’ll get to enjoy a bowl of Wonton Noodle (Dry/Soup) with Signature Vegetables. If you prefer its wontons, you can go for the second set menu item, which offers the Wonton Noodle (Dry/Soup) with Crispy Fried Wontons (5 pieces) at the same price.

The newest outlet is open from 8am to 8pm daily, making it a great option for East siders who are looking to try this famous wonton mee. However, considering this marks the brand’s first venture into the East, I’d say be prepared for long queues.
