Bask in a FREE art projection at Light to Night Singapore 2025

As we look forward to the new year, many of us must already be looking forward to the annual classics. One of these all-time favourites is the Light to Night festival. Luckily, National Gallery Singapore has confirmed that the festival will return with Light to Night Singapore 2025.

Every year in mid-January, everyone’s social media feeds will be flooded with aesthetic photos from the front of the National Gallery. The entire building will be cloaked in vibrant colours in a spectacular art display accompanied by thrilling music.

Many Gen Z and Millennials recognise this view. It has become a regular date or hang-out spot. People gather around the Padang and enjoy the showcase together.

This year, the main facade draped over the Gallery will feature the works of the late printmaker Chng Seok Tin, painter Goh Beng Kwan and the late batik artist Jaafar Latiff. This will mark the first-ever instance of the Gallery reaching out to late artists’ estates to honour the legacy of their works.

Light to Night 2025 will feature many beautiful art projections scattered across the Civic District.

There are also many things to look forward to at Light to Night 2025. Han Sai Por’s “Travelling through the Tropical Rainforest” will take over the Padang, bringing enlarged tropical ferns to our everyday urban landscape.

They will also be showcasing “Angin Cloud” by Art Labour, a recreation of Vietnam’s Central Highlands. It captures the rural industrialisation of the area through the use of Jrai wood sculptures and suspended pillars.
