1. JOM Nasi Lemak
There’s a new spot for nasi lemak lovers at Tasek Central Mall, and JOM Nasi Lemak has already been drawing attention in JB since opening recently.

The menu keeps things familiar with fragrant Nasi Lemak paired with options such as Ayam Goreng Berempah, Rendang Chicken, Chicken Luncheon Meat, or Sambal Seafood.

If you’re dropping by in the morning, there are also classic kopitiam-style bites like Butter Kaya Toast and Kampung Half-Boiled Eggs to complete the meal.

2. Nadeje

Fans of Mille Crepe Cake can now get a taste of Nadeje without making the trip to Melaka. The homegrown brand newly opened its first JB outlet at AEON Tebrau City in early August, bringing its signature layered cakes to the city.

Slices start from RM16.50, with flavours ranging from familiar favourites like Tiramisu and Double Chocolate to Mango Yogurt, Premium Green Tea, and Premium Black Forest.

3. Gohtong Jaya Biscuit

A little taste of Genting has made its way to JB. Gohtong Jaya Biscuit recently opened its first Johor outlet in Taman Abad, conveniently located just down the road from KSL Mall.

The shop specialises in handmade pastries inspired by the famous snacks from Gohtong Jaya, so you can expect plenty of flaky, savoury and sweet bites. Its selection includes Siew Pau, Chicken Floss Salted Egg Yolk Lotus Biscuit, Tao Sah Piah, Mung Bean Paste Biscuit, and Kaya Puff.

4. Time Nook Cafe

For a cafe that does more than just coffee and cake, new Time Nook Cafe in Taman Melodies JB is worth checking out. Opened at the end of July, the cosy space serves an all-day-ish menu covering coffee, tea, breakfast, mains and sharing plates.

Drinks include Coconut Americano, Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso, Charcoal Latte, Corn Latte, and Peanut Butter Latte. Food-wise, you’ll find Hand-Shredded Chicken Rice, Mala Udon, Chicken Katsu Curry Rice, and sharing plates such as Mala Shrimp Wontons and Truffle Tater Tots. There are also Matcha Pancakes and Houjicha Pancakes for a sweeter start to the day.

5. Banh Mi V

Craving Vietnamese food in JB? Banh Mi V at Holiday Villa JB has recently opened its doors, bringing a selection of Vietnamese sandwiches and noodle dishes to the area.

Its signature banh mi comes in several variations, including Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin, Beef Meatballs, BBQ Chicken Chop, Vietnamese Deep-Fried Fish Cake, Sardine, and vegetarian options. Beyond the sandwiches, the menu also includes Vietnamese Spring Rolls and Bee Hoon dishes paired with BBQ Chicken Drumstick or Black Pepper Beef.

6. 1975 Avenue & Hotel

One of JB’s more unusual new stays to check out this September is 1975 Avenue & Hotel, an aviation-inspired boutique hotel and lifestyle destination in Kempas. The standout feature is hard to miss: two Boeing 747 aircraft, Bove and Bey, have been transformed into unique accommodation spaces.

The destination also brings together hotel rooms and suites, dining options, recreational facilities, a man-made beach pool and event spaces. Located near major expressways, it’s also around a 20-minute drive from Senai International Airport, making it the perfect option for travellers who want their accommodation to be part of the experience.

7. Sunway Puteri Hills

A new dining hub has arrived in Sunway City Iskandar Puteri JB this September, with Sunway Puteri Hills bringing several food and lifestyle concepts together in one open-air destination overseeing the Jeffrey Cheah Circuit.

The tenant mix already includes Made on Monday, a’rest Cafe, Kaetsu, Makan Makan by Hock Kee, Reef Seafood, Khunya Thai Kitchen Signature, and more.

8. Horizon Mall

Horizon Mall is officially opening on 3 September 2026, giving Iskandar Puteri another new shopping and dining destination to explore. The mall will house names including Village Grocer, CHAGEE, ZUS Coffee, and Baskin Robbins, alongside entertainment options such as Jungle Gym, DMC Karting, FunMax, and Little Angel Theme Park.
