What are sushi bakes, and why should I care about them? RaisuGood is here to answer your question.

A sushi bake is basically a deconstructed sushi roll, with every ingredient present in a sushi roll, bar the seaweed. For seaweed lovers, no fear, each order of sushi bake comes with a seaweed packet (or several), depending on the size of the sushi bake.

All sushi bakes come in three different sizes: personal, share square and share tray.

The Spicy Scallop Volcano Sushi Bake Rice (S$12 for personal, S$27 for share square, S$45 for share tray) is not for the faint hearted. Using premium ingredients such as scallop, salmon, kani (crab) and spicy Japanese mayonnaise sauce, this will definitely be a seafood lover’s dream sushi.

The Salmon Mentaiko Sushi Bake Rice (S$10 for personal, S$25 for share square, S$40 for share tray) is offered in two versions: spicy and non-spicy.

It is the crowd’s favourite for a good reason – everyone loves savoury mentaiko sauce. The ingredients include Japanese rice, salmon, mentaiko and ebiko, baked well and torched to give an extra smoky flavour.

The Unagi Kabayaki Sushi Bake Rice (S$12 for personal, S$27 for share square, S$45 for share tray) is paradise for unagi enthusiasts. Doused in Kabayaki (a sweet soy-sauce based) sauce, topped with crunchy bits of cucumber and sprinkled with bonito flakes and seaweed strips, this is definitely a recipe for success.
