Named “Sim” after their family name, and a play on the words “Sinful” and “幸福” (xìng fú) meaning happy, newly opened Simful Nasi Lemak at Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre serves up their own version of this classic indulgent Malay dish.
Previously, the same owners ran Nasi Padang Indonesia Bandung at Rivervale.

Each plate of coconut rice comes paired with their well-balanced sambal—rich and fragrant, with just the right touch of heat to bring everything together. It is made in-house and said to be less oily than usual.
The Simful Set (S$6.50) and the Seaful Set (S$7.50) are their best-selling dishes.
The Simful Set comes with their fish otah and crowd favourite chicken wings. According to the owner, Ryan Sim, their recipe is more “Malay style” than other Chinese nasi lemak stalls.
The Seaful Set, as the name suggests, comes with tempura fish and prawn, perfect for seafood lovers who want a little twist on the classic.
Sim started this stall because of his love for nasi lemak. To him, it is “unique on its own even without chilli.” He tried many versions of the dish before deciding to create his own perfect recipe.
At his previous stall, he learnt more about Malay cuisine from a family member, an Indonesian Muslim who owned that stall before him. It solidified his desire to open Simful Nasi Lemak. Currently, he runs the stall with his wife and brother-in-law.
What initially caught my eye about the stall was their social media—props to the stall’s media team. They post trendy short-form videos and quirky captions across Instagram and TikTok that connect with the younger crowd.

Easties, don’t miss out on this new Nasi Lemak spot for a pick-me-up! As Sim says, “We hope our customers will feel 幸福 (happy) when they are having our food.”
