Looking for a comforting dining experience to take a break? Well, The Marmalade Pantry‘s new flagship outlet at ION Orchard is finally open!
Established in 1999, the homegrown bistro is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. They’ve launched a series of new dishes that are now available in addition to their current menu.

Start off your meal with the wholesome Maryland Crab Cakes (S$26++), one of the bistro’s new appetisers.
If you’re a seafood lover, you’ll definitely appreciate the hefty amount of crabmeat in the crispy panko-crusted pocket. The crabmeat was super fresh too! Eating it felt like catching an ocean breeze on a hot, sunny day.

Amongst their new main courses, the Singapore Laksa (S$32++) was our favourite. The tender, juicy and meaty slipper lobster was an absolute showstopper. Its decadent meat went well with the infusion of the rich laksa broth with a strong coconut fragrance.
While you indulge, don’t forget to save some room for desserts. In collaboration with a guest chef, The Marmalade Pantry is also featuring three new special desserts. This guest chef is none other than Genevieve Lee.

Sounds familiar? That’s because you probably know her as ‘Gen’, Runner-up of MasterChef Singapore!

Gen’s obsession with blueberries inspired the Blueberry Rhapsody (S$10++ per slice, S$70++ for a whole cake). It looked so pretty that we were reluctant to dig into it.

However, it was her Reimagined Kaya Toast (S$14++) which took the cake for us. A scoop of gula melaka ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery sat atop a bed of pistachio sponge crumbs. Decadent and flaky brown toast meringue shards completed this intriguing dessert.
According to Gen, she conceptualised this unusual dessert while playfully experimenting with leftover Ya Kun kaya toasts. What a way to reinvent the Singaporean breakfast classic!
Gen’s three stunning desserts will be on the restaurant’s menu from March all the way till October.
