Loaded cookies are all the rage right now, and for good reason! What sounds better than a delicious cookie filled with your favourite marshmallow fillings and topped with hearty chunks of chocolate? Enter The Monster Cookie, an Instagram home-based baker who helps patrons to satisfy their sweet tooth cravings and do good for charity at the same time.
Pledging to donate 70% of profits to Global Village for Hope (GVH), The Monster Cookie sells sweet treats with the aim of helping out the less privileged. GVH has initiatives to assist children in rural Myanmar, raising funds for their school uniforms, study materials, and tuition classes. They also raise funds to provide clean drinking water and to install solar panels to generate electricity for rural communities.
The Monster Cookie’s initiative has been met with overwhelming support from their Instagram community. They currently offer cookies in bundles of 2 for S$6, 4 for S$10, and 6 for S$15. Flavours include Cinnamon Biscoff, Matcha Hojicha, Strawberry Earl Grey, Coffee Pecan and more, with the option for buyers to customise the quantities of each flavour in their orders.
For those who want something less jelak but want to show their support anyway, The Monster Cookie also sells Biscottis (S$5) in a variety of flavours such as Cranberry Pistachio, Coffee Almond, and Dark Chocolate Hazelnut.
In June, The Monster Cookie donated 100% of profits from their Strawberry Earl Grey cookies to the Depressed Cake Shop SG, another Instagram-based baker who aims to raise both funds and awareness about mental health issues in Singapore. They also do regular donations to the Singapore Association of Mental Health. Patrons will be glad to know that every purchase of their sweet treats goes a long way.
The Monster Cookie now offers self-pickup options and islandwide delivery for all their cookies. Treating yourself and doing good for the underprivileged has never been easier.
