During the pandemic, we saw many food establishments shutting down their businesses. While it broke our hearts, there was always that small glimmer of hope that they might one day be back up and running once the pandemic subsided.

One such establishment is The Salted Plum, a popular Taiwanese-inspired restaurant that closed its shutters in December 2020. Well, for all you Salted pals, you’ll be happy to hear that it is once again up and running in its new location along North Canal Road, just a 5-minute walk from Clarke Quay MRT Station.

A crowd favourite, their signature Purple Porridge (S$3) has made a comeback, alongside a new addition, Seafood Porridge (S$38), a dish meant for sharing with your dining buddies.

Back is also their 10 Hour Lu Rou (S$25), featuring thicc pork belly in a robust braise that goes perfectly with their Shiny Rice with Pork Bits (S$1.50).

Another must-try on their menu is the XL Chicken Chop with Plum Sauce (S$15), where crispy chicken cutlet meets a flavourful plum sauce and is further topped with plum powder.

Other options on the menu you could consider are their Spicy Pork Intestine (S$28) or their Fried Oysters with Haus Chilli Sauce (S$18).

Lastly, for those looking to get their lunch fix within the area, The Salted Plum also offers affordable set lunches under S$20.

Available Monday to Friday from 11am to 2.30pm, choose from one of their 4 lunch dishes: Braised Pork Rice (S$13.80), Burnt Chilli Chicken with Rice (S$13.80), Squid Fried Rice (S$15), or Steak Fried Rice (S$15).
