Burgers are pretty great as comfort food, and if you’re craving a hearty burger, Three Buns is always a good option. They’re popular for their epicurean burgers which use housemade sauces and top-quality meat.
In their latest menu update, they’re introducing a new range of artisanal burgers.
One of them is the Big Krabby Kane (S$25++), a spin on one of our national dishes, the salted egg crab. The burger’s blue swimmer crab patty had an undeniably crunchy crust. In contrast, the crabmeat inside was juicy and fibrous.
The salted egg element came from their luscious housemade salted egg mayonnaise. We expected it to overpower the other ingredients, but it turned out to be very palatable with its faintly salty and tangy flavours.
Another new burger is the Sly Stallone (S$27++). This came with a premium Australian Dorper lamb patty that was oozing with juice in every bite.
A slice of Quader de Cavra cheese (goat cheese) tied all the ingredients together beautifully. It gave every mouthful a slightly melty texture, as well as a savoury kick. The burger also had mild herbaceous notes from the pesto.
For those of you who prefer old-school burgers, fret not. There’s also the Kool Herc (S$18++), Three Bun’s take on a classic beef burger.
However, following the Impossible Meat‘s debut in Singapore, Three Buns have also adopted the plant-based meat into their menu.
They’ve come up with two burgers: Impossible Chedda (S$23++) and The Impossible Dream (S$27++). Of the two, we unanimously agreed that The Impossible Dream was the tastier one.
The ingredients had very distinct yet complementary flavours, making it stand out. Together with a zesty XO Mayo and an umami onion marmalade, the burger contained a harmonious party of flavours.
With these new additions, Three Buns has certainly elevated gourmet burgers to a whole new level. So gather all your burger-loving friends and head there for some flippin’ great burgers!
