While there aren’t any fixed opening dates for their outlets, Marubeni Corporation has mentioned plans to start opening franchises in Singapore and Malaysia in the next fiscal year, which begins this Apr 2023. The long-term plan will see plenty of Tim Hortons’ franchises in operation by 2033 as mentioned by Nikkei.

This isn’t Tim Hortons’ first venture in Asia, as they have outlets in China, India and the Philippines, with Bangkok being its first South East Asian outlet. As of 2022, Tim Hortons has over 5,300 outlets and can be found in countries such as the United States, the Middle East and the United Kingdom.

Tim Hortons is a Canadian brand that was founded back in 1964 by former National Hockey League player Tim Horton and businessman Jim Charade. Apart from being a popular spot for coffee and doughnuts, it’s often seen as one of Canada’s national identities and has been referenced in films like Pixar’s ‘Turning Red‘.
