Chicken rice lovers, Tiong Bahru Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice keeps you on a leash! The renowned chicken rice joint has expanded its reach with a new stall in Food Loft along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4. Despite a 30-year stint at Tiong Bahru Food Center, they consistently rustle up scrumptious chicken rice. It has earned them the coveted Michelin Bib Gourmand a whopping six times!

Their menu features the legendary Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice, normal White Steamed Chicken Rice, Lemon Chicken Rice, and Roasted Chicken Rice (S$3.50). If you love sinking your teeth into flavourful, juicy chicken meat, then the roasted chicken will suffice. Together with their fluffy, greasy, and aromatic rice, this meal will instantly elevate your day.

But, if you don’t mind the dryness or flatness in chicken, then the normal White Steamed Chicken Rice (S$3.50) is great. However, keep in mind that this chicken is flattened with a cleaver during preparation, hence it loses its succulence and comes off dry. Good thing their Duo Chicken Rice (S$5) offers a combination of both steamed and roasted chicken, for a taste of both. And their portions are pretty decent too!

Depending on your preference, the chicken can come served with a portion of Salted Vegetables, Chicken Gizzards (S$2), Bean Sprouts (S$3), or Soya Sauce Vegetables (S$3). They also provide a variety of sauces including spicy, hot chilli sauce.

With stalls islandwide, we now eagerly await a Tiong Bahru Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice stall to open in the West!
