Bubble teas, banana pudding matcha lattes and a thousand “fun” coffees, oh my. With all these viral drinks I’ve jumped on the bandwagon for, I honestly can’t remember the last time I reached for a plain ol’ glass of fresh milk.
That was, until Vinamilk came to play.

You may not have heard of them yet, but Vinamilk is Vietnam’s largest dairy brand and a major player in the global dairy scene. Since starting out in 1976, they’ve grown from a humble enterprise to a trailblazer with decades of dairy craft under their belt.
They offer a plethora of beverages and indulgent treats chock-full of natural ingredients, making it easy to nourish yourself while still enjoying what you drink. Think dairy and nut-based options that complement everything from your morning cuppa to dessert and beyond.
And guess what? They’ve recently arrived on Singapore’s sunny shores. Safe to say, I’d never been this excited to try… just milk.
What I tried from Vinamilk

First up on the roster was none other than the brand’s poster child: the Green Farm UHT Fresh Whole Milk.
Together with its Green Farm Organic counterpart, this fresh milk range holds bragging rights as the world’s first to be certified by the U.S. Clean Label Project. That means no heavy metals, microplastics or harmful chemicals, plus eco-friendly production and dual vacuum-seal technology that helps keep it naturally fragrant and yes, really fresh. Its gold awards for taste and impressively low sugar levels are simply the cherry on top.

Oh, what a pleasant surprise. This was undeniably creamy, with a milky richness reminiscent of condensed milk — minus the added sugar. Its natural sweetness, derived from the milk itself, lent a velvety smooth mouthfeel and a clean, satisfying finish that I wholly relished.
I’ve never been huge on fresh milk but as cliché as this may sound, this one’s the first in a while that I’d wholeheartedly pour a second, even third glass of.

Stoked, I moved on to the Green Farm UHT Organic Fresh Milk.
Taste-wise, it didn’t stray too far from the almost-buttery profile of the UHT Fresh Whole Milk, although this was the thickest of the lot. I could already picture myself enjoying a glass straight from the fridge — like an ice-cold milkshake without the sugary guilt — on a hot day. I reckon it’d pair superbly with a bowl of cereal, too.

Last but not least came the Green Farm High Protein Low Fat UHT Milk.
Packaged in a handy pocket-sized carton that’d slip perfectly in a gym bag, this one packs an impressive 12.5g of protein per serving. It’s lactose-free too, making it a fuss-free pick-me-up for anyone seeking an extra protein boost.
I was pleasantly surprised (and honestly relieved) that it didn’t have any of that unpleasant grittiness I dislike of added whey, and still stayed true to the luscious profile of Vinamilk’s products that I’d already fallen for.

But why stop at sipping? After all that taste-testing, we had to see just how versatile Vinamilk really is. So we rolled up our sleeves and whipped up an easy, no-bake treat.
Introducing: our Matcha & Cocoa Milk Balls — an easy fix that’ll curb your sweet cravings in a pinch. We mean it; even kitchen amateurs can get these done and (literally) dusted in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 200ml Vinamilk Green Farm UHT Fresh Whole Milk
- 100g cornstarch
- 50g sugar
- 20g unsalted butter
- 1.5 tbsp vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
- Cocoa powder and/or matcha powder, for dusting
Makes approximately 12 bite-sized balls — good enough for 3 to 4 pax.
Preparation

Step 1: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sifted cornstarch, sugar and salt until well combined.

Step 2: Pour in the Vinamilk Green Farm UHT Fresh Whole Milk and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and slightly viscous.
Step 3: Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave for about 30 seconds; set aside.

Step 4: Transfer the milk batter and melted butter into a heated pan.

Step 5: Over low heat, gently stir with a spatula until it thickens into a soft, mochi-like dough.

Step 6: Continue to fold and knead the dough lightly in the pan with a spatula until everything is well combined and there’s no visible liquid left.

Step 7: Remove from heat and let it cool slightly, then knead gently by hand.

Step 8: Flatten the dough and slice vertically into roughly ½-inch wide strips.

Step 9: Roll each strip into a smooth ball.
Pro tip: Squeeze out any air pockets and use a bit of melted butter on your palms for easier, smoother rolling.

Step 10: Finish by dusting the balls generously with cocoa and/or matcha powder — and enjoy!
Final thoughts

Who would’ve thought? I’ve never been one to crave a plain glass of milk, but Vinamilk’s creamy profile across the board has me ready to reach for seconds. Better yet, it’s great for you, too. I genuinely enjoyed each variation I tried, and I’m still struggling to pick a favourite as I write this.
Now that Vinamilk’s finally made its way to Singapore’s shelves, you can find their Green Farm UHT Fresh Whole Milk, UHT Organic Fresh Milk, High Protein Low Fat UHT Milk and more on Shopee, Lazada and FairPrice. There’s really no better time to hop on this bandwagon.
Expected damage: S$3 – S$7.30 per pax
