If there’s one thing we can’t get enough of, it is definitely Muslim-owned yakiniku eateries. Good news for you Westies, as Yugo Yakiniku has just launched on 1 Oct 2022 at Jurong West Street 42. This Muslim-owned yakiniku stall doesn’t serve just grilled meat, as it also has donburis, aka rice bowls.

Yugo means fusion in Japanese, and that is what Yugo Yakiniku is, as both bosses are of different races with each having a distinct cooking style.

Despite having no cooking background, both Mr Aryaan and Ms Carol are passionate in cooking and thus acted upon it when they thought of opening up a yakiniku stall. They were most recently working in a food delivery business.

Donburis are sold all day. Some options include Karubi Don (S$8), which has soft and flavourful thin slices of short rib paired with an onsen egg and corn, and Chicken Aburi Don (S$5.50), which has flavourful chicken thigh as well as onsen egg and corn.

All meat from the donburis will be glazed with a special sauce before being torched, allowing for the sweetness of the meat to come through without overpowering the flavours of the proteins. They are also MSG-free!

Grilling options are only available from 5pm to 10pm on weekdays and 11am to 10pm on weekends. Meat options include Wagyu Striploin (S$4 per 50g), Beef Short Plate (S$4.50 per 100g) and Kata Rosu, or beef neck for S$6 per 100g.

Yugo Yakiniki serves USDA grade and Australian grass-fed free-range meat. Westies, you’ve got no excuse for not knowing where to eat with Yugo Yakiniku!
