In 2021, we continue to reminisce our past travels, as sights, smells, and tastes of places remain in our memories. Japan is easily one of the countries many of us miss the most, with a balance of its rich culture and bustling cities. Are you a caffeine lover like me, missing the experience of sipping on your coffee and/or tea while strolling along the quaint streets of Nihon and admiring its architecture? Well, here’s some good news: Suzuki Gourmet Coffee has reopened on 10 April 2021, in Boon Lay. Its interior of Shoji (wooden lattice sliding doors) and Shishi-odoshi (fountain common in Japanese gardens) perfectly emulate a teahouse in Kyoto, reminding us of a quiet afternoon spent in Kyoto.

As Singapore’s oldest coffee roastery founded in 1979, Suzuki Gourmet Coffee does not play around with coffee. They offer a variety of filtered coffee from different countries—Papua New Guinea (S$7.50), Ethopia (S$8.50), Kenya (S$8.50), and more. Coffee aficionados will be awed by their selection, as they even have Geisha coffee from Hacienda La Esmeralda ($17.50). Furthermore, you can sip on your Hokkaido Cappuccino (S$8) and Latte (S$8) made with Hokkaido Fresh Milk, a true taste of Japan.

Also, if you’re lactose-intolerant, you can enjoy your coffee with Japanese Soy Milk without additional cost.

I crumble a tad too easily when it comes to lemon meringue tarts, unlike the ones I love.
