Japanese Michelin-starred ramen restaurant, Nakiryu, has recently opened an outlet at Plaza Singapura on 13 Jan 2023. It is 1 of the 3 ramen restaurants to currently hold a Michelin star, the other being Soba House Konjiki-Hototogisu and Chukasoba Ginza Hachigou.

Nakiryu was founded by Chef Kazumasa Saito, who formerly worked as a head chef for Hong Kong restaurant, MIST, which was also a 1 Michelin star eatery. Nakiryu was started in Tokyo and in 2016, was awarded the Bib Gourmand award.

Subsequently, in 2017, Nakiryu achieved its first Michelin star and as if winning one wasn’t hard enough, Nakiryu has continuously maintained the star for 7 years and counting. The ramen from Nakiryu got so popular that even popular instant noodle giant, Nissin, sold their Michelin ramen as instant noodles.
