You wouldn’t think it, but nyonya kueh stall Yummy Times 小食光 started in the 2021 period of suffocating restrictions, ‘Phase 2 Heightened Alert’ (P2HA). Their tireless pursuit of preserving nyonya culture through food in concert with the bite-sized convenience of kueh allowed them to expand into the neighbouring coffeeshop at Lor 1 Toa Payoh a year later.

On top of the wide range of colourful hand-made delights like Rainbow Kueh Lapis, Hitam Salat, Bingkat Ubi, Sagu Gula Melaka, Red Bean Salat, and Kueh Kosui (any 3 for S$2.50) are the Signature Sauce Chee Cheong Fun (S$2.50) and the standout Nyonya Ayam Curry (S$5.90), a specialty of authentic spices that will titillate your taste buds with the fragrance of coconut milk promising tangy, sweet and sour flavours all at once.

Their Kueh sharing platter (S$38.80) comprises the finest selection of kueh, allowing you to skip the hassle of having to pick one-by-one for catering. All dishes are similarly available in catering portions.

Their smaller takeaway kiosk at Upper Paya Lebar Road opened in Jun 2023. The streamlined menu includes lunch options like Fried Mee Siam (S$3.50) and local classic Nasi Lemak (S$2.50), perfect for fast take-outs. Quick bites of the dim sum variety – Red Bean Bun (S$1.20), Peanut Sesame Ball (3 pcs for S$2), You Tiao (S$1.10) and even Curry Puffs (S$1.20) are also offered here.

Plans to improve their Paya Lebar outlet are ongoing, so kueh lovers in the area can look forward to more variety and indulgences headed their way.

With catering and takeout service as well as a coffeeshop stall, Yummy Times has you covered on all nyonya craving fronts. I for one will be keeping my eyes peeled for their outlets when I’m in the area as it’s never not a good day to eat my fill of kueh.
