The popular Taiwanese eatery Eat 3 Bowls 呷三碗 may have recently closed their iconic classroom-themed Crawford Lane outlet, but not to worry, for the restaurant will soon be opening a brand new outlet within Compass One in Sengkang!

eat 3 bowls - storefront

Eat 3 Bowls’ Compass One restaurant is its third outlet (including the now closed Crawford Lane outlet) and also marks the brand’s first foray into a shopping mall. The store will officially open its doors to the public on 2 Oct 2023.

eat 3 bowls - dishes

Here, you can look forward to enjoying Eat 3 Bowls’ classic Taiwanese dishes, including comforting bowls of lu rou fan and mee sua, as well as more indulgent treats like egg rolls with assorted fillings and salted fried chicken.

eat 3 bowls - hashbrown egg crepe roll & pork sandwich

The Compass One outlet introduces new items to the menu, such as the Hashbrown Egg Crepe Roll (S$7.30) and the creamy Tuna Mayo Egg Crepe Roll (S$6.50). They’ve also got a Pork Patty Egg Sandwich (S$7.30), which combines hand-pounded pork patty with omelette and crunchy cucumbers.

eat 3 bowls - taro & pork floss sandwich

Taro and pork floss is one of my favourite pairings, so the Taro and Pork Floss Sandwich (S$6.90) was naturally my favourite item. The taro paste was smooth and earthy with just the right amount of sweetness, while the savoury and fluffy floss balanced the thicker taro out perfectly.

eat 3 bowls - cold noodles

The Taiwanese Cold Noodles (S$5.90) are perfect for a hot day. This bowl comes with shredded cucumber, carrots and shredded chicken, with a side of homemade sesame sauce to toss the noodles in. What a satisfying dish to slurp up.

eat 3 bowls - fried chicken & crispy mushroom combo

Eat 3 Bowls’ Fried Chicken & Crispy Mushroom Combo (S$7.50) is a must-try, in my opinion. Each piece of chicken was crisp and well-salted, while the mushrooms were super crunchy.

eat 3 bowls - signature trio combo

Finally, get the best of 3 worlds with the Eat 3 Bowls Signature Trio Combo (S$12.90), a platter than comes with a bowl of Braised Pork Rice, Chicken Rice and Oyster Intestines Mee Sua.

If you can’t decide on what to get, why not try them all? I recommend mixing each bowl well to combine the ingredients thoroughly, as the braised meat and chicken on their own were a tad salty for me, though adding the rice balanced it out pretty well.

eat 3 bowls - takeaway

If you’re looking to grab some takeout, your dishes will be presented in gorgeous takeaway boxes designed by a Taiwanese artist. When you’re in the store, you’ll spot the pretty murals on the walls too, so keep a lookout!
