We have finally stepped into 2025, a brand new year filled with new happenings and opportunities. I’ve been doing this monthly hawker cleaning series for the past 18 months, and I’m glad that most of you find it useful and informative, so thanks for your continued support!

With Chinese New Year approaching, it seems to be a chill and slow month for cleaning, with only 9 places involved— a stark contrast to the 67 in December. And with that, here’s a (really short) list of markets and hawker centres slated for spring cleaning in Jan 2025. Here’s wishing everyone a happy new year!

6 Jan 2025:

  • 112 Bukit Merah Market & Food Centre (112 Jalan Bukit Merah)
  • Circuit Road Market & Food Centre (80 Circuit Road)
  • Telok Blangah Rise Market & Food Centre (36 Telok Blangah Rise)

6 to 7 Jan 2025:

  • East Coast Lagoon Food Village (1220 ECP)

For those craving Ah Hwee BBQ Chicken Wings & Spring Chicken or Song Kee Fried Oyster after a relaxing day at the beach, I’m sorry to say you’ll need to make other plans for these 2 days.

  • Toa Payoh Lorong 8 Market & Food Centre (210 Lorong 8 Toa Payoh)

6 to 8 Jan 2025:

  • Changi Village Hawker Centre (2/3 Changi Village Road)

If you’re thinking of checking out the newly-opened What The Puff! for their cheese and char siew curry puffs, or satisfy your nasi lemak cravings at Mizzy Corner, consider swinging by on other days.

  • Sembawang Hills Food Centre (590 Upper Thomson Road)

Golden Mile

13 to 14 Jan 2025:

  • Golden Mile Food Centre (505 Beach Road)

Fans of 86 Lor Mee, Da Po Hainanese Chicken Rice & Curry Chicken Noodles and Wedang, please hunt for other alternatives during this period.

31 Jan to 1 Feb 2025:

  • Dunman Food Centre (271 Onan Road)

Perhaps you’d prefer to have lunch at Marine Parade Central Market and Food Centre or one of the various Joo Chiat eateries instead?
