There’s no better time than now to celebrate the region’s best food and the places that deliver it with finesse and precision. It’s been a tough year for all, but with grit and persistence, some of Singapore’s best restaurants have made their mark on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna. The announcements were made today, on 25 March 2021, via a virtual awards ceremony and we’re elated to see 11 new entries—including a new entry from Vietnam (a country last represented in 2013)—and two re-entries. Taking the top spot is The Chairman, from Hong Kong, China, a Cantonese restaurant that can proudly boast joint honours of The Best Restaurant in Asia, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna—a first for a Hong Kong restaurant—as well as The Best Restaurant in China.

Singapore’s very own restaurants have been well-received in this prestigious accolade, with eight names that we can raise a toast to. The Singapore entries are as follows:

From being christened with three Michelin stars, Odette seems to be paving the way for Singapore’s fine dining scene by landing the #2 spot, while also retaining the distinguished title of ‘The Best Restaurant in Singapore’.

Singapore’s Labyrinth also managed to clinch the notable Flor de Caña Sustainable Restaurant Award 2021. Chef Han Li Guang and his team have managed to adopt a serious attitude towards sourcing sustainable produce and work closely with small Singaporean producers, and have even lent aid to provide free meals for the National Centre for Infectious Diseases in 2020.

To add to the jubilation, it’s only right that we congratulate Euphoria for breaking into this list after having been in operation since late 2020. Other note-worthy remarkable winners include Gaggan Anand, in Bangkok, Thailand, for being the highest newest entry at an impressive #5 spot, along with Vietnam (Anon Siagon) finally earning a spot amongst the best after several years of absence.

A rousing round of applause is much-deserved for all 50 restaurants, but even prouder a moment to have Singapore’s very best be represented in such an honoured award. For the full list of awardees in pictures, click here.
