Much like Singapore itself, the InterContinental Singapore at Bugis sits at a crossroads of vibrant influences that meld harmoniously together. From 2 March to 30 June 2022, The Lobby Lounge at this landmark hotel will bring tapas aficionados and alcohol connoisseurs together for an exquisite series they call Evenings of Unlimited Gourmet Nibbles and Tipples.

From 6pm to 8.30pm daily, the Lobby Lounge will embrace the after-work wind-down vibe with the introduction of two carefully-curated evening packages.

nibbles and tipples

First is the After Hour Indulgence (free-flow tapas with two beverages from S$48++ per person) and the second, Wine Down Evenings (free-flow prosecco, wine and beer and one tapas set at S$68++ per person).

Chope Reservations

I have always enjoyed my getaways at the InterContinental, so when they offered me a preview, I jumped at the chance.

After Hour Indulgence

The After Hour Indulgence package is aimed squarely at people like me who can take a tipple but would much rather save space in our stomachs for delightfully irresistible food.

truffle fries

My dining partner and I tucked into the Battered Fish Goujons, which really came into their own with the accompanying Tartar Sauce and Lemon Wedges. The Crispy Fried Chicken served with BBQ Aioli sauce and Pickles were fine, too, but the winner by a country mile was The Lobby Lounge’s Truffle Fries with Parmesan Cheese and Truffle Mayonnaise. I swear I could eat it for 3 meals a day for a week!

blue cocktail

For just S$48++, diners enjoy unlimited servings of the nibbles as well as 2 beverages: InterContinental’s Monday Blue Seasonal Cocktail and a glass of wine (Yealands Estate Single Vineyard Pinot Noir or Nik Weis Urban Riesling), Chang Draft Beer, or soft drink.

cheese

Any turophiles in the house? An additional S$20 is a steal for their Premium Cheese Platter which features Tête de Moine, Brie de Meaux, and Stilton.

Wine Down Evenings

If the purr of the pour is to you one of the sweetest sounds in the world, the Wine Down Evenings package will not disappoint.

wine

Savour unlimited Bolla Prosecco DOC Spumante, Torres Altos Ibericos Crianza DOC Rioja, Ruffino Lumina Pinot Grigio, Bava Moscato, Chang Draft Beer, and Soft Drinks to your heart’s content. Balance off the buzz with a Light Bites Platter. The Lobby Lounge lets you select between 5 of these.

satay

chicken karaage

Satay Panggang is prepared with a choice of Chicken or Beef with Rice Dumplings, Cucumber, Red Onions, and the requisite Peanut Sauce. For a Japanese twist, try their Crispy Chicken Karaage with Szechuan Sauce, Sesame Seeds, and Calamansi Mayonnaise.

crab sliders

Singapore Style Chilli Crab Sliders and Salted Cod Fish and Chips will appease fans of seafood. If I were a drinker, though, my only choice would be for Truffle Fries with Parmesan Cheese and Truffle Mayonnaise.

I had a blast at the InterContinental Nibbles & Tipples session. The gloriously indulgent setting and attentive service aside, the food and drink were right on point for a 5-star hotel experience. I probably won’t make it a habit, but I predict far more visits to them by yours truly until this promotion ends.
