The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has rolled out a new mobile application called JPJvBid, a digital platform created to handle public auctions of seized and forfeited vehicles.

With the introduction of the app, the entire bidding process is moving online, allowing members of the public to browse listings, review vehicle details and place bids straight from their smartphones instead of attending traditional in-person auctions.
JPJvBid is currently available for download on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery. To access the platform, users will need to log in using their existing MyJPJ credentials.
Those who do not yet have an account can register through the official JPJ portal. At this stage, logging in with MyDigital ID is not supported.

In terms of functionality, the system operates similarly to JPJeBid, the platform many Malaysians already use to bid for vehicle registration numbers. Within the app, users can browse vehicles available for auction, review important details and submit bids directly.
Each listing includes key information such as the starting bid price, the minimum increment for bids and a Vehicle Rating Report that outlines the vehicle’s condition.

Before taking part in any auction session, users are required to purchase an e-catalogue, which contains the full list of vehicles offered in that particular auction series. Each catalogue costs RM50, and once purchased, it can be accessed within the app alongside the user’s bidding activity and history.
One major change introduced with JPJvBid is the removal of physical vehicle inspections. Previously, bidders could inspect vehicles in person before deciding whether to participate in the auction.
Under the new system, participants will instead need to rely entirely on the photos, descriptions and rating reports provided in the app when evaluating a vehicle.
The platform will first be rolled out through a pilot auction led by JPJ Selangor, featuring 30 vehicles that include motorcycles, passenger cars and scrap units. E-catalogues for this inaugural series will go on sale starting 18 Mar 2026, while the first auction session is scheduled to run from 1 to 5 Apr 2026.
The launch of JPJvBid app is part of the department’s push to modernise how impounded vehicles are disposed of. By shifting the process onto a digital platform, JPJ aims to improve transparency, streamline the auction process and make it easier for the public to participate.
