South Korea is known for many things: the music, the fashion, the dramas, and most importantly—the food. Korean cuisine has gripped the taste buds (and hearts) of many Singaporeans over the past decade or so, and today, deciding what to eat would more often than not involve considering a Korean option as one of our choices.
If you’re a massive fan of Korean cuisine, and you happen to frequent Bishan, or if you simply love to snack on some delicious confectionary, here’s some news for you that will surely tickle your fancy—a new Korean bakery called Korfe has just opened its doors alongside Huluruk Myeon House, right outside the Bishan MRT exit.
The bakery features 6 original buns baked by their very own in-house Korean baker, and includes an assortment of flavours—like the Korean Garlic Bun (S$2.00), a fluffy bun filled with cream cheese goodness, with bits of onion to give it a savoury edge.
Another must-try is their Injeolmi Redbean Bun (S$2.00), which is a soybean-powdered bun filled with soybean cream and a core of chewy mochi. I feel hungry already just writing about it.
Sitting quaintly alongside these delicious buns are the Matcha Cookie Bun (S$2.00) and the Nutella Cookie Bun (S$2.00), which are coated with specks of cookie crumble and oozing with matcha cream and Nutella respectively—it certainly sounds as good as it looks.
Also, as you might’ve already noticed, all buns are going for S$2.00 each, which is a promotional price. It’s unclear how long this promotion will last—so the next time you’re considering to snag a bao which would cost you around the same price, why not spend your S$2 on a unique Korean bun instead?
