In an attempt to elevate our durian eating experience, the brand has joined hands with Slake Restaurant to introduce a new rendezvous spot—-Mao King Tavern—-a durian bar that promises to take your tastebud for an unconventional spin.

Located at Swan Lake Avenue in Siglap, Mao King Tavern is a concept born from adversity to provide a local watering hole imbued with all things durian, ranging from bites to tipples. Busk in the spacious interior that is modelled with rustic wooden furniture as you savour all the premium fresh durians Durian Edition has to offer.

Apart from the likes of Black Gold (S$28/kg) and Musang King (S$25/kg), Mao King Tavern also offers a host of unique creations such as their famed Charcoal Grilled Durians (S$15.80), Musang King Burnt Cheesecake (S$12.80) and the Premium Mochiko (S$14.80 for three pieces)

What’s a bar without the booze? Wash down your plate of Har Cheong Kaarage (S$11.80) or Chye Poh Fries (S$9.80) with Mao King Tavern’s exclusive Musang King Ale (S$14.90/ bottle, S$80 for six bottles), a durian infused craft beer that is prepared by fermenting the flesh of real Musang King to fully absorb the essence of the durian over time.

Crafted by The 1925 Brewing Co. (1925), the Musang King Ale is housed in a dark coloured bottle to protect the liquid gold from any flavour irregularities caused by sunlight, enabling consumers to enjoy delightfully fruity booze with an unmistakable durian aroma.

Tempted to pay Mao King Tavern a visit? This new watering hole only sits a total of 26 visitors, so hurry, make your reservations right now.
