Do you still remember when MONGA, an authentic Taiwanese fried chicken brand opened by Taiwanese celebrity, Nono, arrived in Singapore back in September?

This time, MONGA opened its second outlet at ION Orchard, and one would expect unstoppable snaking queues just like the ones that appeared at their first outlet at JEM.

MONGA has also unveiled their new Christmas edition Mexican flavourFiery Chicken Fillet (S$7.90), available from 1 – 26 December 2019.

The Mexican sauce is a secret recipe of theirs made in-house with jalapenos, chillies, tomatoes, onions as well as pepper. To those who don’t do well with spice, this one’s for you.

The chicken was tender with a hint of crunchiness, and was surprisingly not as fiery as what I would have expected. The flavour was a mixture of sourness and savouriness that definitely made it enjoyable.

MONGA claims that two pieces of Monga fried chicken cutlets make up one whole fresh chicken, and I could see why. The chicken was humongous, and was made up of breast meat, and sliced precisely with a two-centimetre thickness.

Try out their other iconic flavours—The King (S$6.90), Hot Chick (S$6.90), and The Taiker (S$6.90).

Get The King if you prefer to taste the fried chicken fillet in its simplest form—seasoned with original salt and pepper seasoning. This is a safe flavour for those who like their fried chicken with as little seasoning as possible.

For my spicy fanatics out there, get the Hot Chick, which is sprinkled with chilli paprika powder. The Taiker is my personal favourite, and I would recommend this to my friends as well as my readers.

The Taiker is seasoned with Japanese sauce and seaweed powder which is imported from Okinawa.

For who love a variety of bites, MONGA offers sides like:

  • MONGA nuggets (S$5.90 for six pieces)
  • Fried Chicken Skin (S$3.90)
  • Signature Fries (S$2.90)
  • Seaweed Fries (S$3.50)
  • Sweet Potato Fries With Plum Powder (S$3.50)
  • Fried King Oyster Mushrooms (S$3.90)
  • Fried Broccoli (S$3.50)

MONGA has refreshing drinks to accompany your freshly deep-fried chicken fillet, like their Grapefruit Green Tea (S$4.50), Orange Green Tea (S$4.50) as well as their Osmanthus Oolong Tea (S$3.30).

I’ll definitely suggest the Osmanthus Oolong Tea for those who prefer the classic tea taste.

Head on down to MONGA today and try their fresh tender fried chicken fillets today!
