One thing I always look forward to whenever I visit hawker centres would be the refreshing desserts that I enjoy at the end of my meal. Nothing beats a bowl of old-school Taiwanese dessert such as those sold by Ms Aiyu (爱玉小姐), especially on a hot day.

Located at 409 Ang Mo Kio Market and Food Centre, the new dessert stall had just recently kicked off operations on 11 March 2022. Peek through the glass panel to check out their assortment of colourful toppings, neatly placed in metal containers.

While Ms Aiyu boasts a large menu, the main stars are its dessert items, which are generally very affordable.

Their Signature 3 Aiyu Combo (S$3.50), as well as their Lemon Aiyu Combo (S$2.50), centers around what they are known for— aiyu jelly. This popular plant-based gelatinous jelly is supported by other sweet toppings, such as mango cubes and popping boba balls.

Also, their Pop Ball Aiyu Combo (S$5) will cater nicely to boba lovers. Inside, the many colorful popping bobas make the dessert bowl appear extremely vibrant. Filled with fruit juice flavours that explode in your mouth, they also provide good texture in addition to the silky jelly at the bottom.

If aiyu jelly is not your thing, you can always indulge in their beancurd desserts too. Taiwan Style Beancurd (S$3.50) and Beancurd with Tangyuan (S$3) would serve as decent alternatives that are just as refreshing. Feel free to customise your desserts with the various toppings they have to offer.

Of course, they are not just limited to desserts, as Ms Aiyu also offers a variety of drinks. This includes Aiyu Honey and Soya Milk drinks, Wintermelon Tea, and your classic Milk Tea as well!
