New in town: Oche — Gastro bar with gaming darts and bottomless brunch

Gastro bars are nearly the complete experience, but even with good grub and drinks, there’s just something that’s lacking from your average gastro bar experience. According to Oche, what’s missing are games— darts to be specific. Which is why it is Singapore’s first-ever gastro-gaming darts venue!

Opened on 9 Nov 2022 at 30 Merchant Road, Oche combines tech-driven gameplay, warm hospitality and exceptional sharing plates paired with cocktails, beers and wines.

Even though it has state-of-the-art cameras and tracking technology with its in-house dart system, the real aim is to encourage patrons to focus on shared happiness through the experience.

But all of that wouldn’t matter if the food isn’t stellar. Curated by Chef Michael Lunga, Oche’s menu features fresh and fun flavours made to be eaten by hand without the mess. Highlights include Spicy Salmon Cone (S$15 for 2) filled with fresh Norwegian salmon marinated with a tangy dressing of mango, habanero and lime.

Beef lovers can opt for the Oche Slider (S$18 for 2) which has a tender patty made of prime ground beef and smoked bone marrow, aged and smoked cheddar, red onion marmalade and chipotle mayo in-between house-made brioche buns.

Those with a larger appetite would want to try the Pulled Iberico Burger (S$32) featuring braised Iberico pork neck paired with rich avocado cream, romaine lettuce and tangy pickled red onion with house-made brioche buns.

I’ve barely scratched the surface of Oche’s food options as there are 2 menus— Patio and Restuarant, with Pizza and even Vegetarian options. What’s a gastro bar without drinks? Oche certainly does not disappoint as it has beer staples such as Asahi Super Dry (S$15) to signature cocktails like Our Pina Colada (S$20).

Seems like it might be time to organise a darts session with some friends, and knock it back with a cocktail or two.
