New in town: PastaGo, Jurong East – Freshly made pasta from S$3.90?

Pasta eating is an expensive hobby. With all these new Italian restaurants popping up with price tags in the double digits, sometimes it leaves a gaping hole in our wallet. PastaGo, a new takeaway kiosk located in JCube, solves that problem for us, with pasta going for as cheap as S$3.90!

All of their pasta are freshly made from scratch everyday, and comes in four different shapes: mafalde, fettucine, pappardelle and campanelle.

They have six different pasta creations, including the classic Aglio e Olio and Carbonara. Much like a DIY food bowl, there are base pricings for the pasta with the sauce, then one can add additional ingredients at higher price points.

Now, the moment we all have been waiting for: the S$3.90 pasta… it is none other than the Aglio e Olio, with no toppings. Just garlic, chilli, and olive oil. To get the pasta in the above picture, top up an additional S$2 for the Seared Prawns.

The Carbonara (S$6.90) is done in an authentic Italian way, with egg and cheese only  – no cream! With the recommended smoked duck topping, the price goes up to S$9.40, which is still relatively reasonable considering the pasta is freshly made daily.

The Beef Bolognese (S$7.90) is prepared in the traditional beef ragu style and simmered for hours. To get the pasta in the picture, Beef Bolognese with Spinach, just add a dollar to get both meat and greens.

The Al Limone (S$7.90) – which means lemon –  is a zesty pasta which contains butter, cheese and lemon with a tobiko twist. This is definitely a more unusual pasta, and it sounds light and refreshing. Add S$3, and you can get the Al Limone with Smoked Salmon.

They do have special menus available, so just approach their staff to inquire about it.

All in all, S$3.90 for a decent bowl of pasta has got me salivating at the thought of it. As a Westie, I will definitely check the PastaGo kiosk out soon.

In July 2022, they are planning on opening another branch in Tiong Bahru Plaza, so keep your eyes peeled for that too!
