When it comes to food, sometimes you can do without the bells and whistles sink in the comfort of something familiar. I don’t have to tell you how it feels to see Subway after a long day. I mean, I like my wagyu dons and pasta as much as the next girl but there’s a dependability that Subway has. So, you can imagine my excitement when I saw that Subway Singapore has come up with their first-ever local flavour pairing, the Rendang Sub.

Cooking any rendang is a labour of love, here you can expect a medley of flavours from chilli, onion, turmeric, ginger, garlic, desiccated coconut, tamarind, lemongrass, and a unique spice and herb mixture. Then, all this is cooked with the meat until it practically falls apart and you have a robust sub in your hand.

One of the best parts of Subway is how customisable it is. Of course, you can opt for everything but it’s recommended that you have your Rendang Sub with Old English Cheddar Cheese, Mixed Greens, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Mixed Pepper and Onions for an especially flavourful explosion.

For the Rendang Sub you can opt for the Chicken Rendang sub starting from S$7.30 for a 6-inch and S$12.30 for a footlong. While the Beef Rendang sub starts from S$7.90 for a 6-inch and S$12.90 for a footlong.

Now, the best part is to end your meal on a sweet note. I don’t have to tell you what a cult following Subway cookies has and for Singapore’s 56th birthday, we have a perfectly fragrant, chewy Pandan Cookie (S$1.40). Yes, it’s a yum from me.

There is more to these flavours, the first 10,000 of these subs bought will be matched by the sandwich giant and distributed to staff and volunteers at vaccination centres, testing centres and the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).

In light of newly announced, no dine-in, measures, Subway will bring the subs to them. This is Subway’s first large-scale community impact initiative served toward recognising the dedication and hard work of those involved in ensuring Singaporeans are vaccinated, tested and kept safe from this raging pandemic. It’s just another reason to love Subway.

Both these items will be available from 21 July 2021 to 28 September 2021 across all Subway restaurants islandwide and on delivery platforms GrabFood, FoodPanda and Deliveroo.
