We’ve all had our fair share of kebab, chicken tikka and butter chicken, and can all attest to how, whilst mind-blowingly delicious, it’s not the most white shirt-friendly meal out there. Enter Rollgaadi, Singapore’s first-ever kathi roll kiosk, which is set to open its second outlet at Century Square this coming Mar 2023.
The kathi roll was said to have originated in India when a chef noticed the trend of eating sandwiches and had the idea of wrapping kebabs and curries within a layer of prata. Rollgaadi first launched in Dec 2021 at i12 Katong serving handmade and fresh kebabs which are rolled up in a unique milk and flour-based roll that’s buttery and flaky.
Currently, they are in the middle of obtaining halal certification but are Muslim-friendly.
The Chicken Tikka Kebab (S$8.90) has chicken leg cubes that are charcoal roasted. For a more Asian take, you can go with the Manchurian Chicken (S$8.90) that’s marinated in salt and vinegar and cooked in tangy soy and vinegar sauce.
Other options include Rendang Chicken, Butter Chicken and Malai Mirch Chicken at S$8.90 each.
You can even opt for the more premium Mutton Sheesh Kebab (S$9.90) which has been marinated in a blend of yoghurt and spice with special masala gravy.
There are also vegetarian options such as Paneer Tika, Butter Paneer, Veg Manchurian and Double Egg at S$8.90 each.
Wash your kathi rolls down with a refreshing selection of Yoghurt Lassi Frappe such as Mango Lime, Strawberry Mint, Masala Rose and Coffee each at S$4.90. Those who prefer something warm can opt for the Masala Chai (S$2.90).
