Let’s face it, everyone loves Korean food. Korean fried chicken, bulgogi rice, and a refreshing bottle of soju are all I need to kick back and relax during a weekend. But I would never have imagined doing it in a Shake Shack. What do I mean? Well, Shake Shack is collaborating with MICHELIN-starred restaurant NAE:UM and their star Chef Louis Han to bring 4 new Korean-inspired menu items for a limited time only!

The collaboration is set to take off on 5 Nov 2025, with menu items featuring a mix of Shake Shack’s famous American flavours combined with classic Korean delights that can be found in everyday Korean eateries. We went down early to check out what it’s all about.

First is the Saeng:chae Gochujang Chicken (S$12.40), which is a savoury slab of Korean fried chicken pressed into a soft bun, with tangy sauerkraut that expands on the classic pickled radish that comes with Korean dishes. This was by far my favourite item on the menu.
The fried chicken oozed with sweet Gochujang sauce and had a wonderful crunch to it. It had the right balance of sweetness and saltiness, with patient hints of pepper waiting for me as I swallowed. The sauerkraut was a welcome addition that added a refreshing bite to the burger.

The other burger offered is the Pyo:go Galbi Shack (S$14.20 for Single patty, S$18.10 for Double patty). The burger is inspired by Ssam, where meat is wrapped in a piece of lettuce and topped with crunchy vegetables. It exudes the Ssam vibes with a juicy Angus beef patty topped with mushrooms, two big red onions, and fresh kale salad.
You really can’t go wrong with a beef burger. The patty reminded me of the beef you can find in Korean BBQ places.

The Salsa Jang:aji Fries (S$9.80) was quite the treat. It merges the tangy sweetness of salsa and the kick of Korean chilli into a nacho fries-like dish.

To wash it all down, they have this Tropical Makgeolli Shake (S$10.20), which took me for a ride. It’s like a rice wine milkshake, with a blob of frozen vanilla custard within the drink, and pineapple puree for a tropical finish. It had the viscosity of a milkshake, but went down like a silky thin wine.
In my opinion, this is Shake Shack’s best milkshake. It was a pleasant sip, without the boated jelak feeling that comes with most milkshakes. Do note that the drink is alcoholic.
You can start flocking to your nearest Shake Shack outlet from 5 Nov 2025 onwards to savour these fusion fast food delights.
