We’re long overdue for a place that serves bubble tea past 10pm. If everyone else can savour beer, spirits, and wines long into the after-hours, then it’s surely, only fair that I get to sip on my version of booze—milk tea with pearls—too. So it’s sweet, sweet relief that Sweet Hut Dessert along Geylang Road understands some of our most pressing confectionery needs.

Traditional Desserts

Unfailing classics like Almond Paste (S$3.80), Peanut Paste (S$3.80), and Sesame Paste (S$3.80) are available to satiate the old soul in you because, why jostle with the crowds at Bugis when you can get it from the comfort and convenience of such a gorgeous space?

Bird’s Nest

If you (and your wallet) are feeling up to it, go full baller mode with selections from their Bird’s Nest menu. There’s the quintessential Bird’s Nest (S$28), Shredded Bird’s Nest and Mango with Coconut Milk (S$15), and Shredded Bird’s Nest and Durian with Coconut Milk (S$15) which are all just as decadent as they sound. Do your complexion a favour while you get your sweet fix—a two-in-one, if you ask me.

Durian & Mango Selection

For heartier options, the Musang King Durian Mousse (S$9.90) and D24 Durian Mousse (S$6.90) from Sweet Hut’s Durian Selection, as well as the Coconut Milk Mango Ice (S$5.80) from their Mango Selection all seem divine.

Bubble Tea

At last, the portion of the menu that many avid bubble tea enthusiasts like me have been holding out hope for. At an affordable S$2.90, every item on Sweet Hut’s bubble tea menu retails at the same price. Options include Hazelnut Milk Tea, Caramel Milk Tea, Vanilla Milk Tea, and even Peach Milk Tea. Toppings such as black pearls and popping pearls can be added on for S$0.60, and vanilla ice cream and coconut ice cream can be added for S$1.30 per cup, each.

Savoury Snacks

My savoury sisters, brothers, and non-binary pals, you’ve not been forgotten. Snacks to pair with the aforementioned saccharine dishes include a piping hot bow of comforting Golden Mee Sua (S$4.90), Fried Otah (S$3.90), and Fresh Shrimp Spring Roll (S$4.90). It’s hard to imagine anything better than warm savoury bites with a good ole’ milk tea at 2am in the morning. Okay, perhaps sleep makes for a strong contender, but if I’m giving up some shut-eye for supper, Sweet Hut better be it.
