You’re probably familiar with Tipo Pasta Bar— yes, that famous pasta place where you can design your own pasta dishes with handcrafted pasta, artisanal sauces, premium meats and more.

Tipo Pasta Bar was previously located along North Bridge Road, but as of 10 May 2022, the popular pasta restaurant has moved a few doors down to a bigger space at Aliwal Arts Centre along Aliwal Street.

You might be asking— what’s the point of moving if it’s only to move a few doors down? Well, the restaurant shared on social media that apart from shifting to a larger space, the intention behind the move was to also provide “shorter reservation waiting times and a more cosy space for your pasta lunches, brunches and dinners”.

The new space will feature Tipo’s iconic pastel pink and blue coloured walls, making it perfect for the ‘gram.

Its announcement came paired with a squiggly illustration of the building, and if you squint hard enough, you might be able to make out adorable pasta-shaped designs such as ravioli and lasagne in the photo. How cute!

A visit to Tipo Pasta Bar isn’t complete without its handcrafted pasta dishes. Go for its Royal Ragu (S$18.90), which comes with smoky shredded beef, cherry tomatoes and grana padano, or try its Seafood Sensation (S$17.70), which features prawns and clams in a pomodoro sauce.

Alternatively, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can Build Your Own Pasta. Start with your choice of Premium (S$3.90 each) ingredients, such as Smoked Duck or Prawns, and pick from a variety of Sauces like its famed Pink Sauce or Alfredo Sauce (S$4.90 each).

You can also pick from a range of handcrafted pasta types, which is presented on a handy board upon ordering.

Despite the move to Aliwal Arts Centre, Tipo isn’t abandoning its previous space at North Bridge Road. In fact, the restaurant cheekily dropped hints on its social media that “785 North Bridge will be used for something a little sweeter”, and asked diners to stay tuned for further news.

Well, sounds like a new dessert place might be coming up soon!
