I remember a time when a trip to Japan was distinctly marked by lugging home boxes of Tokyo Bananas as gifts for friends. Times were simpler back then. Anyhow, while awaiting Singapore’s travel lane with the +81, your favourite Tokyo Banana snack is now available for pre-order at 7-Eleven Singapore stores.

Pre-orders are open from now until 12 October 2021, or until stocks last. To order, approach any 7-Eleven staff in stores who will be able to assist you—one Facebook user Hanny Han shared her pre-ordering experience with others, taking to the comments to write that they “went to AMK 7-11” and filled in a form for the pre-order. Pre-orders and collection have to be done at the same outlet, and collection will be within four working days from the date of pre-order.

Each box of four is going at S$10.90, but pay only S$20.20 when you snag two boxes under their Early Bird Special from now until 14 September 2021.

With this pre-order, the creamy, sweet treat will no longer have to be just a distant dream. While we might not be stepping foot onto the Tokyo Metro anytime that soon, at least we can order in some good Japanese fare, bite into our Tokyo Bananas, and find solace in the temporary fix.

The Tokyo Banana is not applicable for 7Rewards stamps.

For more snacks and tidbits that weren’t typically available in Singapore, check out Kunhai’s new flagship store in People’s Park Complex selling food and snacks flown straight from China. Think Suan La Fen 嗨吃家酸辣粉, Hao Huan Luo Snail Noodle 好欢螺螺蛳粉, and other interesting bites to get your hands on.
