What’s better than crispy, fried chicken wings? Nothing, if you ask me! If you’re on the hunt for a new spot to enjoy this loved-up comfort food, you’re in luck. Wings is a recent hawker stall that’s going all-out in preparing finger-licking and (super) affordable wings.

Launched in August 2021, they’re tucked away next to Mapletree Business City in Alexandra, with an adorable dabbing chicken signage.

Wings is a brand extension of Tony Cafe, a mixed-rice eatery located in the Adelphi Shopping Mall in City Hall. After consistently adding thrill to our taste buds with their popular honey wings and deep-fried chicken wings rice for a decade, the owner of Tony Cafe finally decided to delve into the wing business by opening a separate chicken wing brand. And we’re so glad they did!

While the recipe for their wings remains a tightly-guarded family secret, their prowess gives Wings a massive upgrade. The only information they’re giving out is that they only use one type of flour plus the usual salt and pepper seasoning.

The owner’s burning passion for chicken wings definitely has a hand in how crispy, tantalising, and addictive they come out. The wings are crunchy and golden on the outside, well-cooked on the inside, and layered with pepper-centred butter. Paired with flavoured rice and achar, this makes for the perfect treat after a long day.

The prices? Relatively affordable. For instance, the cheapest wing-set costs S$3.50 for a single wing, and the double goes for S$4.80. In place of the diluted broth, you’ll find at some chicken wing joints, they offer a side of zingy house-pickled achar, spicy, savoury chilli, and a bowl of carrot and cabbage soup.

Wait, there’s more on the menu. The stall also offers Nyonya-style Mee Siam (S$3.50) and Lontong (S$3.50) for those who may not be in the mood for wings.
