Everyone’s favourite Japanese grill specialist, Yakiniku-GO has just launched an all-new Premium Pork Selection. Available from 4 October 2022, this new menu adds delicious Japanese Miyazaki Pork and Duroc Pork, as well as a range of affordable options to Yakiniku-Go’s already wide selection of chicken, lamb, beef and seafood.
So, what makes this pork so different?
Miyazaki pork is sourced from Kyodo Farm in Miyazaki, Japan. Pigs here are raised entirely on a diet of corn kernels. Duroc pigs are a breed between white and Iberian pigs, and are renowned for their superior marbling that makes for especially juicy and flavoursome meat.
This new selection introduces Miyazaki Pork and Duroc Pork to the Singaporean Yakiniku-Go fan in both main sets and à la carte options.
We got to try the two sets: Pork Sanshu Mori Set (S$16.80 for 150g) and Miyazaki Tokujo Pork Set (S$28.80 for 180g).
The Pork Sanshu Mori Set comes with pork belly, pork collar, and pork jowl. Accompaniments such as rice, seaweed soup, and kimchi or salad are included in the set.
For a more premium indulgence, ask for the Miyazaki Tokujo Pork Set that serves up Miyazaki pork belly, Miyazaki pork collar, and Miyazaki pork loin steak. It is a great way to experience and appreciate the unique flavours and mouthfeels of each cut. This set also comes with rice, seaweed soup, and kimchi or salad.
The 6 new premium à la carte options are:
- Pork Karubi ($7.90 for 100g) shoulder rib with high marbling
- Pork Kata Rosu ($7.90 for 100g)
- Tontoro ($5.90 for 50g) well-marbled centre of a pork jowl
- Miyazaki Buta Bara ($15.80 for 100g) thickly-sliced pork belly cuts
- Miyazaki Buta Kata Rosu ($15.80 for 100g) pork collar
- Miyazaki Buta Rosu Steak ($15.80 for 80g) thick slab of meat
Yakiniku-GO adds a touch of playfulness to the launch with its Yakiniku-GO Hack Challenge. Receive a free 50g Tontoro set just for doing a pig impression and saying, “I’m a pork star!” to any staff member. No prizes for guessing if I got my free pork!
