As a east coaster, I never had a reason to go all the way to Serangoon for ice cream, especially since we already have ice cream institutions… until I tried Kooks Creamery. Located in Serangoon, Kooks Creamery is founded by two sisters, serving up amazing milk cereal and brown butter flavoured ice cream.
Apart from their ice creams, their lava cookies are the bomb.
Signature Lava Cookie with Ice Cream ($8.50)
The Signature Lava Cookie spews warm, molten chocolate that will put you in a good mood instantly. The cookie has a crumbly, melt-in-your-mouth texture which contrasts the crunchy sprinkled cornflakes.
Accompanied by milk cereal flavoured ice cream, it’s sweet and milky with an overall smooth texture. I’m definitely in love with this, the flavour is simple and goes with anything.
Matcha Lava Cookie with Ice Cream ($8.50)
The Matcha Lava Cookie has a molten matcha centre that didn’t taste too forced or artificial. Plus point? It’s thick and consistent.
The matcha went really well with the dried cranberries that had a slight zest. This combination was really refreshing and definitely an insta-worthy dessert!
