Pizzas are like a puzzle. When it’s good, it’s good and even when it’s bad it’s still kinda good. Gusta Sourdough Pizza Co, recently opened on 22 Sep 2022 along Serangoon Avenue 3, aims to challenge your perception that pizza is just ‘good’, by being excellent.

Gusta Sourdough Pizza Co. set its sight on becoming one of the top dining destinations for the best pizzas on the island despite being located in a neighbourhood. It takes inspiration from the preparation and baking process of authentic Neapolitan pizza and creates its own style by pushing the boundaries with flavours and ingredients.

Its proprietary pizza dough recipe is the result of countless tweaks such as using different flours, hydration levels and even the type of sea salt. The dough is then slowly proofed over a period of between 24 to 30 hours to develop depth in flavour.

The pizza menu is meticulously-constructed with the right amount of fresh ingredients that complement the flavour of the sourdough pizza base. Classic Pizzas include the Margherita (S$20.50++) which has a fine balance of tomato sauce, creamy fior di latte mozzarella and homegrown basil leaves. Other classic flavours include Hawaiian (S$23.50++) and Italian Sausage (S$24.50++).

Those who crave something local tasting can opt for the Mala Chicken (S$24.50++) which is made with mala cream sauce crowned with juicy chicken mince, mozzarella and spicy homemade chilli oil.

Vegans aren’t left out either with meat- and dairy-free offerings such as the Mushroom and Truffle Oil (S$27.50++) pizza which is layered with a homemade porcini salsa, white Swiss button mushrooms, kale, and truffle oil. All vegan-friendly pizzas are also made with vegan mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

So the next time you crave pizzas, don’t settle for good— go for excellent by choosing Gusta Sourdough Pizza Co!
