Outside of every bak chor mee stall’s take on the signature version, I’m sure we can all agree that this dish requires little innovation to titillate our taste buds. Yet that was what exactly the young couple behind No. 25 Minced Meat Noodle did when they opened their first stall in 2022.

Fans of this popular BCM stall at Bukit Merah, do note that they will be closed temporarily over the month of Dec.

Chelsea (pictured above, right) made an announcement on Facebook that the stall’s last day (in 2023) would be 29 Nov. This came off the heels of recent news that the Blk 161 Bukit Merah Central coffee shop will be undergoing renovations and a change of landlords.

Worryingly, the couple is considering relocating if the rent gets a sharp mark-up. In the absolute worst case scenario, they may consider shuttering the business.

‘…we will only be able to continue our business here if the rental charges are affordable for our business. Please be assured that we are trying our best to work something out with the landlord.’

No. 25 Minced Meat Noodle - Signature Minced Meat Noodle & Soup

Their Signature Minced Meat Noodle (S$8/$10/$12), which comes with a bowl of signature soup, is the highlight of the menu. The more gao concoction is reminiscent of how tonkotsu broth is made — with chicken feet, pork bones and other secret ingredients boiled over at least 8 hours a day.

While it doesn’t taste like tonkotsu broth, the broth itself is robust and rich. They recommend yellow noodles with ketchup and chilli, but of course, mee kia and mee poh are still available.

The owners are constantly looking to introduce new menu items to cater to more diners, so it would be a pity for the stall to close unceremoniously over rent costs. Do stay updated on their Facebook and Instagram for further updates on No. 25 Minced Meat Noodle.
