Berseh Food Centre will be closed from 9 to 10 Mar for their scheduled spring cleaning. Friends and patrons wanting to enjoy their specialties may have to wait a little longer.

Berseh Food Centre is a small but well-loved hawker centre in the Jalan Besar area, famed for delicacies from longstanding hawker owners.
The list of things to try at Berseh Food Centre includes a couple of oyster delicacies such as Fu Zhou oyster cake, a traditional deep-fried Fuzhou snack, at Fu Zhou Poh Hwa Oyster Cake.
Notably, Fu Zhou oyster cake is rarely found in Singapore. This hawker stall remains one of the last places in Singapore selling this traditional snack, making it all the more appealing to oyster lovers.
Another well-loved oyster specialist, Lim’s Fried Oyster ceased operations last August, leaving Fu Zhou Poh Hwa Oyster Cake as the remaining oyster delicacy in Berseh Food Centre.

Other than seafood, Berseh food centre also features a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Kway Chap store – Kelantan Kway Chap – serving flat rice sheets with pork belly in a fragrant soy broth.

The Curry chicken noodles with homemade sambal from Sheng Kee, run by an ex-chef with more than 20 years of experience in the kitchen, also draws consistent queues and loyal fans.

To cement Berseh Food Centre’s reputation as a centre serving traditional and rarely-found hawker dishes, you can also find other unique foods at the centre, ranging from pig trotter jelly at Lao Liang Pig Trotter Jelly & Shark Meat to turtle soup at Shan Zhong Bao Herbal Soup, run by a 2nd generation hawker.
Patrons can look forward to enjoying these delicacies again from 11 Mar onwards, and perhaps rejoice at the squeaky clean floors and tables at the famed Berseh Food Centre.
