Food Avenue is a newly opened food court located in the basement of The Cathay beside Plaza Sing, with 9 stalls and about 200 seats.

After close to 2 years of renovation, The Cathay finally reopened its doors to the public on 28 Mar along with its new food court, which I went to check out on 8 Apr.
For those who want to deviate from the usual food options at Dhoby, here are some stalls that you can check out.

First Noodles 壹碗面 was the first to catch my eye amongst the stalls in the food court. They serve Traditional Chinese-style noodle dishes such as their Signature Bone Broth Beef Slices Noodle (S$6.50) and Picked Vegetable Sliced Fish Noodle (S$7.50).
They offer set menus that include one bowl of noodles and one side dish, ranging from S$8.50 to S$9.50.
At the time of my visit, this stall was not open for business. However, you can check them out at their other outlets at Wisma Atria, Great World City and Sengkang Rivervale Mall for the time being.

For those looking for a hearty and comforting bowl of soup amidst the prolonged monsoon season, check out 潮粥 Teochew Fish Soup which serves up fish porridge/noodles with interesting additions, such as their Taro Fish Porridge/Noodles (S$6.90) and Lala Clams Porridge/Noodles (S$7.50).

I had a hard time deciding what to get but eventually settled on the Pumpkin Fish Noodles (S$6.90) as the colour stood out to me. (I mean, it’s pumpkin)
The broth tasted something akin to the Campbell Cream of Chicken canned soup, with only a hint of pumpkin flavour. My noodle of choice was La Mian, which surprisingly didn’t get too soggy even after leaving it out for a good 15 minutes. Paired with the tender fish slices and occasional piece of cabbage, it was a decent bowl of noodles for an early dinner fix.
On that note, you can choose your type of noodle (instant noodles, thin bee hoon, thick bee hoon and la miian) at no extra charge!

Combo Nasi Lemak is a new stall selling Nasi Lemak with so many different toppings, you will be spoilt for choice. Their Signature Nasi Lemak Omelette (S$12.90) and Nasi Lemak Royal (S$14.90) looked delish! They also sell Mee Rebus (S$5.80) and Lontong (S$6.50), with add-ons like Begedil, chicken cutlet and paru.
Their Nasi Lemak is said to be good for people with diabetes and healthier than the regular, because of the “Wholesome fiber” rice they use.

Wok of Art boasts a substantial menu of fried rice dishes, noodles and soups. Their signatures include KL Hokkien Mee (S$8) in all its saucy glory and Paper Wrapped Chicken (S$8.50), which I’ve never seen in a food court!
They’ve also got Salted Egg Chicken Cube Rice (S$8) and Seafood White Bee Hoon (S$7.50) on the menu. Variety much?

To accompany your meals, Food Avenue’s drink stall is offering a special price on their Hot (S$1) and Iced (S$1.20) Milo, so be sure to claim this deal while it lasts.

On top of that, get 1-for-1 homemade drinks from 7 to 11 Apr by simply following or liking their Instagram and Facebook accounts!

They have the classic food stalls too— Yuan Ji Chicken Rice, Japanese & Korean, Hao Wei Mixed Rice and Huajie Mala Kitchen. I’ll leave it to you to check them out for yourselves!
