Ex-Wooloomooloo chef Jimmy Teo’s western stall, Meet 4 Meat, is no stranger to Katong. Three years into the market, they’ve won the hearts of many with Singapore’s most affordable beef wellington at just S$28, and the crowd come dinnertime is simply testament enough to how popular the stall is.

As they turn three this year, Meet 4 Meat duo Jimmy and Gerald are bangin’ out a host of specially-curated menu items, and we think you’re going to want to stick around for it.

Pork Tomahawk

A juicy Pork Tomahawk (S$28) greets us warmly, alongside a bed of chickpeas and greens and a fat dollop of bacon and pomelo paste that’s made in-house to pair with the meat. I typically steer clear of a pork chop cut because of how dry it can get, but the tomahawk retains moisture like a dream. A slice into the rack sends juices oozing and running over.

Trio of Smoked Seabass

A Trio Smoked Seabass (S$15) is a fun adjacent to the typical smoked salmon, and a seabass done three ways—with dill, pepper, and just plain—is a breath of fresh air. Don’t forget to get some of that chive, chilli, and olive oil dip along with your seabass slices while you’re at it.

Other anniversary specials include the Argentina Sirloin Steak (300g) (S$17), which is so affordable we could cry, as well as some Boiled Wing Bean (S$6).

Jimmy's Carbonara at Meet 4 Meat

Of course, while you’re there, you can’t forgo some of the menu classics like Jimmy’s Carbonara (S$10), which is, for the record, nothing like any carbonara I’ve ever had. Instead of the creamy, cloying mess like many bad iterations of the dish, Jimmy’s Carbonara is a smooth, umami blend of sautéed onion, bacon, herbs, milk, and egg.

Cross section of the Beef Wellington at Meet 4 Meat

The crowd favourite Beef Wellington (S$28) is a darling for a reason. It stands as Singapore’s cheapest beef wellington, and not only is it easy on the pocket, it’s superb on the palate too. The tenderloin is coated with pâté and duxelles (mushroom stuffing), wrapped in puff pastry and baked. And as a cherry on top—or should I say, treat in a wellington—a piece of pan-seared foie gras is embedded within it all.

Racks of lamb at Meet 4 Meat

The 4 Boned Lamb Cutlets (S$40) is the last of what we tried, and with slices of meat as tender and juicy as them, you’ll really need no further persuasion. Even if you don’t intend to do lamb as your choice of main, you at least have to get them to share.
