The first of its kind, Sentosa and Brewerkz have teamed up to launch a leisure destination-inspired collaboration of beers. Interestingly, the choice of flavours draws inspiration from edible plants found around Sentosa—cacao, lime, jasmine, and nutmeg. Each pays homage to the different landmarks and leisure offerings that embody the four themes under Sentosa’s ‘Make Time for a Holiday’ campaign—island life, heritage discovery, wellness escape, and nature adventure.

From the lightest to heaviest flavour profile, I’ll now bring you through the beer flight.

Sentosa Islander Brew 3

1. Siloso Beach – Lime Sea Salt Gose

I’m convinced that we’ve peaked from the start because I like this beer most of all. Brewed with sea salt and kaffir lime, the contrasting balance of flavour kept the beverage refreshing and light. Overall, I’ll go out on a limb and say that most would enjoy the tart and iced tea-like citrusy overtones. A true ode to Sentosa’s Siloso Beach.

2. Bukit Manis – Jasmine Kolsch

Crisp, sparkling, and slightly fruity with a subtle hint of jasmine, the Bukit Manis is light and aromatic. Slightly stronger jasmine notes would’ve been the icing on top for me, but it was overall still well-rounded and quaffable for me.

3. Tanjong Rimau – Yuzu Nutmeg Witbier

A wheat beer with hints of nutmeg and coriander, as well as a citrusy yuzu aroma—there was just too much going on for me. The hint of nutmeg didn’t sit well with me, and the fact that I’m not at all a fan of yuzu wasn’t helping the case. However, if you enjoy zesty fruitiness with slightly spicy overtones, this will be right up your alley.

4. Fort Siloso – Chocolate Vanilla Porter

Strong dark chocolate and vanilla combined with caramel and raisins, the Fort Siloso is a decadent treat for the palate. It presents a complex profile with notes of dark chocolate, hazelnut, and coffee.
