Toa Payoh residents who live around the TPY North industrial estate probably miss the now-defunct Hup Chong Yong Tau Foo, which previously occupied the old kopitiam for 40 years. Well, not all is lost — why not give a brand-new yong tau foo stall at the revamped Hai Fong kopitiam a run for your money?

Xin Cheng Yong Tau Foo at 203 Toa Payoh North officially opened its shutters on 19 Mar 2026, offering over 40 varieties of handmade and store-bought ingredients to go giddy over. From stuffed eggplant, tau kwa, and bittergourd to cuttlefish, yam, and fishcake. Oh, and do try out their home-crafted meatballs which are made in the stall daily.

The prices of the items ranges from S$0.80 to S$1 each, with a minimum of 5 pieces. You can also have it with rice or your choice of noodles like kway teow, bee hoon, instant noodles, and yellow mee for just S$1 more.

Want to dial up the indulgence? Try their signature Yam Rice for just S$1.80. Packed with pumpkin and yam cubes, fragrant hae bee, and mushrooms tossed in a special sauce, it’s a flavour-packed treat in every spoonful.

The owners placed a bowl of pork lard for customers to help themselves to the mini nuggets of sinfulness; remember to not be overly greedy and leave some for others. The chilli and sweet sauce are all made in-house as well, so help yourselves.
