As you patiently wait for the air travel bubble agreement between Singapore and South Korea to come to reality, why not satisfy your craving for Korean treats at 82bunsik, a brand new cafe serving Korean street fare right in the neighbourhood of Ang Mo Kio

The latest endeavour from the same people who brought us Pluseighttwo (+82), 82bunsik takes on a similar minimalist look and feel as its sister cafe at Bras Basah Road. But, instead of selling bingsu (shaved ice dessert) and coffees, 82bunsik’s menu focuses on Korean street snacks such as corndogs, ddeokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes), fried chicken and instant noodles.

For a taste of traditional bunsik (snack made from flour) sold along the shopping alleys of Myeongdong and Hongdae, try the Ddeokbokki (S$9.90). Available in three levels of spiciness, you can feel free to order based on your preference without worrying about upsetting your tummy.

If you miss the fried chicken sold in paper cups in Korea, make sure to order a serving of their Sweet & Sour Chicken (S$9.90). Coated generously in sweet and sour sauce, the fried chicken served at 82bunsik also comes with small pieces of rice cakes and almond flakes. This is a playground of flavours and textures that you won’t want to miss!

For a mid-day snack, why not get their corndogs? Available in two flavours—Cheddar Corndog (S$5) and Cereal Corndog (S$5), these are deep-fried to a beautiful golden brown before being coated with sugar for an addictive and irresistible sweet crunch.

Have I mentioned that they also have the perfect plate of croffle to go with their beverages? Whether you like your croissant waffles Plain (S$5), with a slice of melted Cheeze (S$5.50), or with a sprinkle of sweet rice cakes in the Injeolmi (S$5.50), the choice is yours. But if I may recommend, go for their Injeolmi Croffle with a S$2 top up for a scoop of ice cream. This combination is bound to delight at any time of day.

If you are in the neighbourhood of Ang Mo Kio, definitely pop by 82bunsik for a quick meal. Do tell us how you feel about their food and if you would like us to review the cafe for you!
