Do you know what’s happening on 30 Apr? Nope, it’s not Labour Day yet, but it’s National Bubble Tea Day! If this is your first time hearing of National Bubble Tea Day, you’re not alone. I only learned about this celebration a few days ago and I started to wonder why we have a day dedicated to celebrating bubble tea.
national bubble tea day - bubble teaTo my surprise, National Bubble Tea Day wasn’t a celebration created by Taiwan to commemorate the creation of bubble tea. In fact, National Bubble Tea Day was created in the United States (US) as part of a 2018 marketing campaign by Kung Fu Tea. After that, National Bubble Tea Day became celebrated across bubble tea chains worldwide, including those in Singapore, to commemorate the drink’s popularity.
So, what will we see at Singapore’s bubble tea chains this National Bubble Tea Day? Let’s find out!
If you’re heading down to any KOI Thé / Express outlets from 27 to 30 Apr, they are collaborating with American Tourister for this year’s celebration! You can purchase a Large-sized Golden Bubble Milk Tea (S$6.20) or Jumbo Milk Tea (S$6.20) to receive an exclusive KOI Traveller Cup Sleeve! To stand a chance to win an American Tourister luggage and exclusive KOI merchandise, follow their social media, comment on their post to share your dream destination, and share a photo of your drink with the KOI Traveller Cup Sleeve!
At itea, drop by any of their outlets on 30 Apr, purchase your favourite drink and enjoy a small treat! For every cup purchased, you’ll receive a complimentary white pearl topping! Sip, sip, hooray!
While LiHo isn’t launching any deals this National Bubble Tea Day, they are launching a “Hunny-Licious” Collection storewide on 1 May for a collaboration with Disney’s Winnie the Pooh! Besides Winnie the Pooh-themed drinks, they will be releasing cu-tea Winnie the Pooh plushies, tote bags, cups and stickers!
Meanwhile, if you’re a ChaPanda fan, you may want to pop by on 30 Apr, because their social media is now counting down to the launch of a new Camellia flavour!
So mark your calendars for 30 Apr, grab your bes-tea, and head down to enjoy some tea-riffic deals or new releases from your favourite bubble tea chain! Happy National Bubble Tea Day!

I can't cook, but I can eat and tell you if the food is good. I love almost everything that goes with coriander, spring onions or vinegar, but absolutely hate ginger and garlic.
